Chris Glover

Chris first became interested in physiology and movement as a child when she began training as a gymnast. After studying Human Biology and IT, at Bristol and Swansea, she went onto a training/coaching management career with a major blue chip company for over 10 years.

In 2004 during a career break to raise her two daughters, she first tried and fell in love with yoga. Drawn to the incredible physical and mental benefits it brings she has practised ever since.

Deciding to combine this with her return to work she set out to become an instructor in 2009.

She then completed both the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation and the Yogahaven 200-hour teaching diploma in 2012. Her studies included asanas, philosophy, anatomy, relaxation and meditation.

Focusing on teaching from 2012 Chris has taught across the UK and internationally in many arenas to many students. In 2013 she enjoyed helping create and deliver a new London studio’s entire teacher recruitment, training and sequencing programme. She’s also lucky enough to of modelled/filmed for various yoga projects.

Chris underwent surgeries in 2016/2017, including a full hysterectomy, and a period of steady, mindful and often challenging recovery followed. She successfully completed several University computer training courses including: The Science and Anatomy of Nutrition, Principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the Anatomy of Breathing.

To help her further understand, respect and nurture the changes she went through, Chris then successfully completed her third teacher training in November 2017 with Uma Dinsmore Tuli and became accredited as a Well Woman Yoga Therapist. Studies included:

Menstruation, fertility, subfertility, assisted conception, perimenopausal and post-menopausal concerns including osteoporosis, recovery and prolapse, as well as low self-esteem, depression, anaemia and eating disorders. Practices include: asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, deep relaxation and profound sound and moving meditations with yoga nidra.

In addition 2017 also saw Chris attend several workshops including: Yin yoga, Charka Balancing and Intention setting, Gong bath meditations and Ashtanga principles.

​

With thousdands of hours experience Chris is passionate about sharing the diverse, yet unifying nature of yoga with others so that they too can discover the rewards it can bring to their lives.
